Horus as Apollo, the Pythagoreans, Hermes-Thoth and Apollonius

As an adventure tour guide I travelled with a group to parts of ancient Greece/Ionia (now in the western region of Turkey called 'Rumelia'). Among the places we visited (the highlights) were Miletus (home of Greek sage Thales), Priene (home of Greek sage Bias), Ephesus (an incredible site, well preserved, which housed, in ancient times, the largest temple for Artemis/Diana/Hecate etc. Reptilian goddess associated with the Orion constellation) and to the pythian temple of Didyma (temple/oracle for Apollo, second only to Delphi, LOTS of Reptilian imagery at the Didyma temple. There is even a stone carved as the head of the Medusa. It is said that these pythian temples had huge serpents, which may not be surprising considering what was shown in the movie Conan the Barbarian). The trip was a great way to learn loads about Ionian/Greek culture.

In Priene, one can see the ruins of the temple Alexander the Macedonian built to Athena/Minerva/Neith/Isis (Reptilian goddess). Parts of the Priene ruins are really well preserved, including a city council (called the 'boule') chamber in the centre of Priene where the givers of the law used to sit (the city theatre is also well preserved). All the distinct seats are made of very hard rock so they have resisted weathering all these years. I took a seat in some of the seats and found them to be comfortable. Ephesus had an aqueduct system common in some of the major cities during the Greco-Roman era. The city also had public toilets where everyone of the same gender could see and smell everyone else taking a dump. They probably talked about public policy or even the latest gossip while easing themselves.

There was a chance to do a tour covering Egypt, Libya and Tunisia but at the same time another opportunity arose to take up some spiritual training so I chose the latter.

While reading the book De Vita Pythagoras (The Life of Pythagoras by Iamblichus) translated by Thomas Taylor, I found it interesting that Thales who was one of Pythagoras' earliest mentors directed him to study with the Egyptian priests in Memphis (Enki/Thoth/Horus group) who Thales said he himself had studied with. Pythagoras then spends the next 22 years in Egypt. After Egypt he traveled to other places such as Mesopotamia and to the Persian domains before returning to Greece (sounds like there are some similarities here to Gurdjieff's trip, also Gurdjieff's harmonic music is similar to the Pythagorean music, but also different in some ways).

Some authors have associated Horus with the Greek god Apollo. The Pythagoreans (name indicates pythian/Reptilian influences) were known to revere Apollo in particular. Plato is also known to have had a strong Egyptian (the knowledge of the priesthood, which is Egyptian-Atlantean Pleiadian-Sirian-Reptilian stuff) influence in his works. To the credit of the Greek scholars such as Pythagoras and Plato, what was learned from other contemporary cultures such as the Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Persian and even the Vedic cultures was added to the Greek culture and made into something uniquely Greek. For instance it is known that the Pythagoreans replaced the Egyptian deities with their own Greek versions. Also the character Socrates who was Plato's mentor seems to have his base strongly in the Ionian/Greek system. There should however be no doubt of the Atlantean, Egyptian, Mesopotamian and Persian influences on the Greeks.

Later on, along comes Apollonius (whose name has a link to the Greek god Apollo/Horus) who was from Tyana, an ancient Hittite (Mesopotamians in Anatolia/present day Turkey, who used cuneiform) city. Apollonius studied the Pythagorean system (he was known as a Neo-Pythagorean). Apollonius has sometimes been associated with Hermes Trimegistus (Egyptian Thoth/Tehuti) probably because Apollonius studied the system of HT. This system of Thoth/Horus/Ptah comes from Lower Egypt and was propagated by the followers of Horus (the Shem-su-Hor, see Gurdjieff article) who were a priesthood that started off as 'demi-gods', offspring between the Sirian-Reptilian ETs and regular humans. It is this group that has been responsible for propagating the Atlantean/Egyptian S-R teachings in North Africa, the Mediterranean and parts of Europe and Asia since the fall of Atlantis.
